Accessibility Statement for Latino Health Access
Latino Health Access is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance status for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities.
Measures to Support Accessibility
Latino Health Access takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:
- Integrated the Sienna accessibility widget to provide visual and interaction enhancements.
- Follows a privacy-first approach to accessibility, ensuring no individual or user-specific tracking data is collected.
- Regularly audits our content for compliance with the latest WCAG standards.
Digital Accessibility Standards
Latino Health Access to make our website and digital tools conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we regularly audit our digital platforms to identify and resolve barriers.
Our efforts include:
- Visual: Alternative text (alt-text) for images and high color contrast.
- Auditory: Captions and transcripts for video/audio content.
- Navigation: Full keyboard functionality and logical tab orders.
- Mobile: Large touch targets and responsive design for all screen sizes.
American Disabilities Act Title III – Compliance Efforts
While no widget can guarantee 100% compliance on its own, Sienna addresses several critical "low-hanging fruit" areas required by ADA:
- Visual Accessibility: Users can instantly toggle high-contrast modes (WCAG 1.4.3).
- Text Scalability: Visitors can resize text up to 200% without breaking your layout (WCAG 1.4.4).
- Keyboard Indicators: Sienna enhances the focus outline for keyboard-only navigators (WCAG 2.4.7).
- Motion Control: Allows users to stop flashing GIFs or animations, critical for those with vestibular disorders (WCAG 2.2.2).
Physical Accessibility
LHA is committed to providing accessible facilities. Our main offices and community centers are designed to be ADA-compliant, including accessible parking, entrances, restrooms, and accommodations for service animals.
Third-Party Content
While we strive for full accessibility, some portions of our site may rely on third-party tools (such as Google Maps, social media feeds, or donation processors). LHA cannot guarantee the full accessibility of content managed by external vendors, but we actively encourage our partners to meet high accessibility standards.
